Speaking of planet earth, Red Bull shredders and all around best buddies, Travis Rice and Zach Leach were tuning up their surf skills down in Costa Rica for the last few weeks. I guess both guys deserve a little break after the crazy season!

Japan Gets HAMMERED!

When you are up in the North Island of Japan, there is no telling what the weather might bring. We landed at our final destination smack dab in the middle of nowhere. We met up with Pat Moore, Zach Leach and Heikki Sorsa in the airport and our crew was complete.

From around the world, the crew had gathered in the tiny island nation of Japan for a trip that only Red Bull could pull off. We are chasing the world’s best snow all over Japan until we have had our fill. Chuck Olbery from Hokkaido Powder Guides met us with our transportation and we were off. The sky was dark and the snow was puking. We had about 2 hours until we reached out lodge, which was nestled at the end of a road halfway up a volcano.

Foggy morning in LA, the kind of morning that makes everyone late. Late for work, for coffee. The thick mists from the east were already greeting us blanketing the coast with soup.

Flight time was set for 11am a non-stop LA to Tokyo and the crew was already looking like the weather was taking them down. Canceled flights, delays, mechanical problems and then traffic.

It was going to be tight Shaun was on his was from LA and the Cabby was told to get him there...

Marie-France Roy might be the coolest girl in the world. Well, she is definitely the coolest in the snowboard world. The Poutin-loving-French-Canadian speaking-Whistler local and goddess of the shred, took home the nights biggest awards at the 9th Annual Transworld Snowboarding Rider of the Year Awards. Congrats Marie!

Shaun White Grabs GOLD!

It was a Superpipe final for the record books. Classic Winter X weather meant snow was dumping all through the finals. Shaun was on fire for the practice session and brought that heat into the biggest snowboarding contest in the world.

As Shaun dropped into his first run the crowd went wild! With snow flying and Shaun ripping, his run was off the charts. Going huge on his first hit and then rolling into McTwist to frontside 1080 to cab 1080 to frontside 900 to backside 900 then sealing the victory with a huge frontside 1080!

This was one of the biggest victories for Shaun, grabbing gold again and continuing his Winter X domination. The town of Aspen better be ready from some celebration!

Travis Rice to Unveil Teaser-TONIGHT!

Travis Rice has been on a whirlwind two-year film journey, locking down new tricks, new spots and re-inventing the what a snowboard movie should be like. "That's It, That's All" is the title for the flick and from Japan to Europe, Asia to America, Travis and his crew are continuing to blow minds and pow fields alike on the search for that perfect shot.

Travis will be at the Aspen Quiksilver store for the release. Until then, check out his other teaser!

Red Bull Kicks off Winter X Games 12

The best party in Aspen, Winter X Games 12, got fired up with the Red Bull Athlete party at the Fly Lounge kicking off the week’s craziness. The best party in town was there to get all the rider’s together from around the world and hang out and get down!

What was supposed to be a small gathering turned into all night wildness. The who’s who of snowboarding were on the scene. Shaun White, Travis Rice, Pat Moore, Zach Leach, Iouri Podladchikov, Heikki Sorsa and of course the coolest, Marie-France Roy!

Thanks to The Fly Lounge and everyone who kept going till the sun came up.

Travis Rice's Natural Selection Contest in Jackson!

Red Bull shredder, Travis Rice, has managed to do it again.

Pushing the limit is something he does everyday and now, in just a few short days, the world's best snowboarders will be gathered at Jackson Hole, WY for the Travis Rice Natural Selection contest.

Shaun White Wins Overall Burton European Open

After winning slopestyle, Shaun came out firing for the finals of the Burton European Open Halfpipe. He came on strong for his second run blasting huge airs and spins. His second run was combed up like a road trip, going huge frontside rodeo 540 off the first hit into a backside 900, linking into back-to-back 1080’s followed by another 900.

Then he finished it with an Alley-Oop McTwist on his last hit. Shaun even stomped a 1260 in his last run of the day. And although his runs were epic, fellow Burton team rider Kevin Pearce ended up taking the win in what was a down to the line battle.

But with that 2nd place finish Shaun was able to take the Overall Burton European Open as a whole clinching the title and a brand new Suzuki car! Not a bad week for Shaun.

From here it is back to the states for the biggest contest of the year...Winter X Games!

Shaun White Wins Burton European Open Slopestyle!

Shaun took home top honors at the Burton European Open on Thursday with a run that could not be matched. Dropping in to his first final run of the day Shaun was fired up. Looking for that stoked to get the season kicked off with, Shaun dropped into the course firing.

Staring off at the top, Shaun 270’d on to 270 off on the box and then rolling into the plastic ¼ pipe for a back lip. From there it was a tailslide to 270 out on the next box and then frontside 900 on the ¼ pipe. As he cruised into the triple line of jump he set up for the combo of the day, going frontside 1080 stalefish to backside 900 mute and sealing the deal with a cab 1080 melon. And that was just his first run!

Starting off with a bang like that put him atop the leader board and as he watched the second run unfold, a victory lap would prove to be his next task. Cruising and boosting Shaun went huge all day and took home the victory to prove it.

Storm of the Century?

As the rest of the country prepared for the Storm of the Century, Red Bull riders across the country geared up for a whole different scenerio-POWDER DAY!

The country was rocked by a massive system that dumped inches of rain in California but feet upon feet of snow in the mountains. Red Bull was in Mammoth Lakes, just squeaking past the mayhem and road closures to make it to town just as the cycle began again.

Mammoth, CA: 6-8 FEET!
Snowbird, UT: 160 inches in one month
Solitude, UT: 24 inches
Summit County, CO:12-14 inches
