Forest Bailey Bangs at The Backyard!

It was a beautiful day in downtown Denver as the Salomon Backyard Bang got under way. The massive crowd of pre-stoked snowboard maniacs were out for most of the afternoon as the jam session got under way and the crowd got hyped on the Red Bull DJ sets that were kicking down the soundtrack to the days mayhem.

As the field of nearly 100 was broken down into the qualifiers for the finals, Red Bull's Forest Bailey found himself back at the top of the start ramp to the settle in for a 30 min battle to the end.

The set up for the day as a three across feature block going from left to right with a down-flat-down rail, to a down box to a rounded/flat to down box. The multitude of features lent itself to a creative jam final where those remaining battled it out for a brutal 30 minutes. A field consisting of Colorado rail contest constants like Pat Milbery, Will Levine, and more put on a great show for the crowd. But is was Vermonter-turned North Lake Tahoe transplant, Forest Bailey that took their heart. Starting off the jam with three solid tricks on the down-flat-down rail, Forest set himself apart from the rest of the field and he couldn't be caught.

Forest almost didn't even make it to the jam, but pulling through in the last minute, he hustled from the Red Bull Performance Camp in Breckenridge and made the early registration cut off.

"It feels so good. I am so sore though. We have been working so hard early season at the (Red Bull) camp and but it was awesome, the whole crew came down to support so that meant a lot. But mostly I am just stoked to have landed my runs!"

After the contest it was back to Breck for a little dinner with the crew and then back on hill for the next week as Red Bull wraps up in Colorado.

SARKA PANCOCHOVA NEW TOUR SWATCH TTR TOUR LEADER

We all heard of her...now she is officially a force to be dealt with...

From a TTR perspective, two female riders were the most successful at Dachstein, Sarka Pancochova (CZE) and Cheryl Maas (NED). With Sarka's fourth place finish, she takes over the Tour lead and is now sitting in world number 1 of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour for the first time in her career. Only two years ago, she wouldn't even have thought that this would be possible. „I hope I can manage to stay there [in World No.1] for longer. I will try to kill it at the European Open." says Sarka after the event. „I can do that. I have the tricks but sometimes it is just the wrong time or I choose the wrong trick." Pat Moore Gets Opening Part!

It is the goal of almost every pro snowboarder to have a video part, but it is even a bigger statement when you open up the movie. Pat Moore is making that statement with his opening part in Forum's Forever, their new video coming out at the end of the month.

Pat has been on track to produce this kind of video part for the last few years and for him, this is the culmination of a lot of hard work, long days and epic sessions. Check out the teaser and more on Forum.com

Check Out Travis Rice in Absinthe's New Film!

Absinthe's new film, Neverland pushes the limits of snowboarding. Neverland is an alusive place of imagination, where dreams come true. The guys from Absinthe will premier the new project in the US, Canada, and Europe. The tour will promote awarness of environmental issues important to all snowboarders. $2 dollars from every ticket sold will go to support nonprofit environmental groups. So check it out!

Pat Moore is not just another pretty face. True his face is sculpted beautifully in a New Hampshire-lumberjack sort of way, but in reality he is one of the top snowboarders in the world. One of Red Bull's biggest Finnish sensations spent the last week up at Mt. Hood not only tuning up for the next season but also shredding for charity in Snowboarder Mag's America's Next Top Pro Model. Nestled among the perfectly planned parallel roads, suburban cul de sacs and US-style shopping malls of Milton Keynes lies the huge sci fi-like silver dome of Xscape. But, inside its buzzing circumference of bars, fast-food restaurants and clubs, is a hub of the UK snow sports scene; the SnoZone.

Aka 'The Fridge', it's an aircraft hangar sized space with a 30-degree gradient, inside is a carpet of white astro turf and fake snow, pumped nightly from the snow cannons that line the slope, all illuminated by fluorescent lighting. For two nights a week this giant refrigerator comes alive, as a park is set up on one half.

Pat Moore is Camping Out

Snowboard Mag Interview with Travis Rice

Snowboard mag just posted an interview with Travis Rice; in it, he talks primarily about Alaska, and his last epic trip there with Jeremy Jones:

"I guess you have to start with the fact that Alaska is a battle of mind and matter. Because there are so many options when you are looking at what you want to ride. You can get as big and gnarly as you want and that weighs on the mental side of things. Being able to relax and ride with confidence is one of the biggest obstacles to overcome. And then you have all the dangers of course. Also, is the logistical side of things-the planning, timing the sun, having a good support crew. I mean you have to plan for the worst up here and having trust in your crew is beyond essential. But then after all of the scary shit comes the pure joy of it. Boardin' man! You get a lot of freeriding in, even when you are filming. Because in other situations when I am filming it's pretty much getting to the zone and working a lot, hiking and hitting jumps. Here you're just fucking riding-it just happens that they are filming it."

Walk a Mile in Marie-France's Shoes

Marie-France Roy worked with the designers over at Etnies to come up with her own signature colorway for the Perry mid-top, which is hitting the streets right now. MFR's definitely got her own style, and that's reflected in her shoe, for sure. She says she "wanted a shoe that is stylish, happy and bad-ass at the same time." Mission accomplished!
